All about luck. Maybe do a little prayer before each pull.

The only sound advice I can give you is:

-When a progressive jackpot gets big enough, it can sometimes make slots into a profitable game. Even if you don’t know how much money is “enough,” you should stay away from progressive jackpots that are low, and chase machines with progressive jackpots that are high. Being in Vegas, you’ll have a lot to choose from. I’m not sure the best way to find out where the best jackpots are, but maybe local publications like Gambling Times, or online sites can help… just don’t confuse advertising with unbiased reporting. If no help can be found there, then just shop around by walking through a few casinos and observing which jackpots are high. See if payout odds are published, and follow the “buzz” if a lot of other players are gravitating to a jackpot game. Lots of other players don’t cut down your chances of winning. When it comes to jackpots, they indicate a good gamble.

-If you want to be serious, you might research as deeply as you can into Progressive Jackpot Video Poker machines. I don’t know exactly where the best machines are, but it’s said that some of these machines offer good enough payouts to make for frequent good betting opportunities.

As I’ve pointed out elsewhere, high jackpots come out of the pockets of players who played the machines when the jackpot was too low. Therefore, the casino is always getting their cut, but you can still profit too if you play at the right time. Your profit comes from a combination of the amount of money you win from non-jackpot wins, and the small percent chance of hitting big on the jackpot. Therefore, you still have to seek machines where the house take is not too high. If you can see what I mean about winning money from other players, not the house, then you’ll understand why games can exist that are profitable for the house *and* the player at a given time.

No matter what, you should also take full advantage of any comps and promotions that the house offers. Get a player’s card, and find out what kind of deals/freebees you can get for your play.

There is no such thing as luck. It’s karma baby. If you’re a good person, good things will happen to you. But don’t hold the door on the way into the casino for someone, and think that’ll decide your fate, because it won’t. LUCK is non-existant. The best machine is the ENCHANTED UNICORN slot. Most casinos there are 20 lines, and you can bet up to 20 per line. I always bet 11 lines times 19, and I have hit 800,000 credits ($8k), $4,200 and $1,200 *many times*
