I miss the sound of coins clanking in the payout tray. I miss the feel of real money. These slips of paper given out of the slot machine make gambling such a dull experience. I don’t play the slots anymore.
No, I don’t miss that sound- It’s still around.
Well it is at the local Casino in Adelaide, South Australia.
The Burswood Casino in Perth, Western Australia has them too, last time I checked.
I could not agree more! I miss the times walking through the casino and hearing that “CLANG CLANG CLANG”-
I think there are a few places left in downtown Vegas that use the coins still, aren’t there?
If you want to see them / play them .. you basically need to go to one of the older properties or somewhere downtown (such as the 4Q, Fremont, Main Street Station).
Many of the newer casinos have TITO’s.
This means ticket-in-ticket-out. I’m like you, i like hearing the clang, clang. It’s reminiscient of how vegas used to be, etc. The skyline here changes often. I know it.
The state bird is the steele-crane (mild humor).
I really didnt mind getting my hands dirty & carrying heavy metal back to the room, or across the street to the next casino. I think that the younger folks today just dont get the ole-time feel of las vegas (sigh). But, that’s how it goes.

yes casinos do this now to save money, it takes a person to to empty the coins out, also to fill them up with coins, which means more money the casino has to pay out, you watch and see what s next, all the table games will be computerised and wont need a dealer
I agree. The thrill is gone. I think this change is not for the best. People dont want to gamble without real money. And what will they do with all the money cups now? Ha
Even though I hate that the coins make your hands filthy, it was so much fun to hear the money coming down and having to get a bucket to put it in. The only casino that I know of the still has coins coming out of the machines in at the Tropicana.
Fred, I agree whole-heartedly. The thrill of hitting a jackpot will never be the same without the coins clinking in the tray!
Yes, that was part of the experience. I totally agree, it is not the same or as much fun.
No, I don’t miss that sound- It’s still around.

Maybe you need a holiday in Australia?
The only perk is your hands stay cleaner.
I don’t miss them as they rarely pay out anything anyway. Slots are cash cows for Vegas. Master poker and make money!

I miss the coins and all the wonderful noise
it made when you win alot of them.
I do not play the slots anymore, it is now boring.
I AGREE!!!

yep. But I’m guessing the change ladies miss those huge tips, now that the machines are ticket out…
I miss them too. Hell, I was depressed when I first saw that the machines have a button you can push instead of pulling the “arm.”
